Day 1 of 2026
Well, here we are again—Day One of a new year.
So many possibilities. So many dreams.
But honestly? For me, it’s Day 22,872.
I’ve never been a big New Year’s person. I’m more of a look at the whole picture kind of gal. And here’s a little secret—I don’t count down to the New Year. I count UP.
Today is another chance to make something happen.
Another step toward a dream that never really ends—just keeps evolving.
That dream began in October 2024 when I decided to create a blog centered around my greatest passion: dogs. I truly didn’t think anyone would read it. Yet here we are, with over 16,000 of you walking this journey with me. Every comment, every share, every quiet read has shaped what The Barking Blogger has become. Each one of you matters more than you know.
This past year brought challenges and victories—going from zero followers to 16K, learning new technology (Eek… at 62!), and realizing that just when I figure it out, it changes again. UGH.
It was also my first full year not working full-time in over 40 years. That came with a lot of quiet. A lot of reflection. A lot of doubts. So I did what felt natural—I sat down and wrote. Not for anyone else… but for me.
As I step into 2026, I want to thank you—from the bottom of my heart—for being here. For loving dogs the way I do. For supporting this space, this dream, and this voice. You have humbled me beyond words.
