Chicken Chews – A Tail-Wagging Treat!
Looking for a wholesome, tail-wagging treat for your pup? These homemade Chicken Chews are packed with goodness and made with love! Chicken broth is not only delicious but also loaded with essential vitamins and minerals to support your dog’s health. Plus, it’s gentle on sensitive stomachs! If your pup has dietary restrictions, feel free to swap in beef or turkey broth—just be sure it’s free of seasonings, onions, and additives.
This recipe is wonderfully customizable and forgiving! Got a gluten-sensitive pup? No problem—simply use almond flour instead of whole wheat. A touch of raw honey adds natural sweetness and health benefits, but keep in mind that honey should not be given to puppies under one-year-old or dogs with compromised immune systems. It should also be used with great caution if your dog is diabetic. If your dog has health concerns, simply omit the honey from the recipe. ALWAYS, check the honey label to confirm it does NOT contain Xylitol or any other artificial sweetener before using.
Old-fashioned oats provide fiber and a satisfying texture, making these treats both tasty and nutritious. As always, if you have any questions, consult your veterinarian.
These homemade goodies store beautifully—keep them in the fridge for up to two weeks or freeze them for up to a month. I like to portion them into small freezer bags so I can easily grab a batch whenever my pack is ready for a tasty reward!
Your furry friend will love these crunchy, wholesome bites—happy baking and happy tails!
Friendly Reminder:
I may know my way around the treat jar, but I’m not a veterinarian! The recipes I share on The Barking Blogger are made with love and good intentions, but every pup is different. If your dog has allergies, a sensitive tummy, or you just want to be extra sure, give your vet a quick woof before trying out a new treat. After all, a happy, healthy pup is the best kind of pup!
