Blueberry Bunny Bites

🌸🐰 Blueberry Bunny Bites – A Hoppy Spring Treat! 🫐🥕

Spring is in the air, and Easter is right around the corner! What better way to celebrate than whipping up some colorful, healthy, and downright adorable treats for your pup? 🐶💜 These Blueberry Bunny Bites are packed with nutritious goodness and are just as fun to make as they are for your dog to eat!

Why Your Pup Will Love These Treats:

  • Carrots add natural sweetness and a boost of fiber, vitamins A and C, and antioxidants.
  • Blueberries are tiny superfoods, loaded with antioxidants and nutrients to support your pup’s health.
  • Raw Honey (for dogs over 1 year old) is a delicious natural sweetener—but be mindful if your pup has a compromised immune system or diabetes

🐾 Perfect for Every Pup!

Got a grain-sensitive pup? No worries! Simply swap wheat flour for oat flour to make these treats grain-free. If your dog has a sensitive tummy, you can also grind the rolled oats into a fine flour—making them easier to digest.

Short on time? Skip the grating! Canned carrots work just as well—just be sure to rinse and drain them before mashing. One 14 ounce can yields about 1 cup.  Tip – I store the other half of the mashed carrots in a bag in the freezer for ready-mashed carrots next time.

So, let’s get baking! Think Spring, think Easter, and treat your pup to a homemade snack made with love! 🐶💛🌷

Friendly Reminder:
I may know my way around the treat jar, but I’m not a veterinarian! The recipes I share on The Barking Blogger are made with love and good intentions, but every pup is different. If your dog has allergies, a sensitive tummy, or you just want to be extra sure, give your vet a quick woof before trying out a new treat. After all, a happy, healthy pup is the best kind of pup!

1/2 cup carrots , 1/2 cup fresh blueberries

    Refrigerator: Up to 1 week

Notes

NOTES:
  1. Carrots – freshly grated carrots are best but if you are in a crunch for time, canned carrots will work.  One can of carrots equals approximately one cup of mashed carrots.  TIP – I put the other half cup in the freezer for ready-mashed carrots next time I bake these.  Be sure to rinse and drain the canned carrots well.  If you can find organic or low sodium/no salt canned carrots, those are best.
  2. Whole Wheat Flour – for grain-free treats, substitute oat flour.
  3. Honey – Only use raw honey with no added ingredients.  Honey is OPTIONAL and should not be added if your dog is under one year of age, diabetic or has a compromised immune system.
  4. Rolled Oats – If your pup has a sensitive tummy, consider pulverizing the rolled oats into a finer texture for easier digestion.
